The Break

I have no pictures to prove the past few weeks of our existence, but the memories will last a lifetime. Evie and Jackson spent five whole days in Safford with Grammy and Papa, while Mommy and Daddy took some time for themselves!

We knew Evie would do wonderful with Grammy and Papa, since this was not the first time she was spending and extended amount of time with them. We had no clue, however, how Jackson would hold up without Mommy. Yes, he's a 'mama's boy to a t', and it definitely made this Mama nervous to spend more than a few hours away from her little cling-on. Jackson proved there was no need for worry and played and ate and slept with no hiccups along the way. What a trooper he was... and what a sigh of relief for Mama! In fact, he slept so well, we're looking forward to the next break, whenever that might be. We are so proud of Evie for being such an amazing sister to her little brother. She was so excited to help the adjustment go smoothly while we were enjoying some time without them.

Evie and Jackson spent lots of time playing with Grammy and Papa on the slip 'n slide, playing outside, watching movies, taking walks, eating pizza, etc., etc. Thank you, Grammy and Papa, for taking care of our kiddos while we took a break! We appreciate it more than words can say! They're ready to come back whenever you say 'Come!' :)

Blake and I spent our time relaxing, sleeping, hanging out, watching movies, and eating out without little hands stealing food off our plates. ;) We even took a couple day trip to fly to California to play with Kris and Jason. We drove to Temecula and visited a couple wineries, which was awesome! We ate amazing food, of course, while there and enjoyed time relaxing with my sister and her husband. Thanks, Kris and Jason, for a couple of super fun days... and as always, thanks for picking us up at the airport. ;)

While we love our kiddos and prefer to experience life with them, we definitely enjoyed a much-needed break to slow down and hear a quieter version of our life for a few days.
