Day 5: RECORD

Today's task was to learn to see and remember the moments that matter. During the last four days, I have looked at my thoughts about how I spend my time, how I listen to my children, and what really matters in this parenting journey. I have set aside chunks of intentional time with my children. Now I aim to remember these moments.

Ten of my favorite moments from this week:
  1. Making fruit and veggie juices with Blake and Evie
  2. Practicing listening skills with Evie
  3. Running/exercising/praying (how I spend some free time)
  4. Sitting by the lake with Blake while sharing memories
  5. Chatting with a good friend on the phone for 45 minutes, while the kids played nicely and quietly!
  6. Talking with Evie about Heaven and Hell
  7. Going to Redemption Arcadia and seeing old friends, Jeana and Aaron
  8. Sharing life over the phone with my sister
  9. Taking pictures with the kiddos
  10. Rocking and singing Jackson to sleep

The Challenge was to talk with the kids and have them list their favorite moments from this week. For a special treat, the kids got to pick out one meal for family dinner night. We have not had this meal yet, but it will be planned over the next few days.

Evie's ten favorite moments of the week:
  1. Playing at church with new friends
  2. Spending lots of extra time with Mama
  3. Daddy's day off
  4. Eating dark chocolate tofu dessert
  5. Gramps mowing the lawn
  6. Home Group - swimming
  7. Making juice with Mama and Daddy
  8. Playing card game online
  9. Making muffins with Mama
  10. Eating food at dinner without complaint, like an adult. :) (She said it, word for word. lol!)
Jackson's ten favorite moments of the week:
  1. Singing with Evie at church
  2. New paci = better sleep
  3. Popsicles
  4. Eating lots of fruit
  5. Swimming at Home Group
  6. Playing outside with sister
  7. Bathtime
  8. Pineapple juice
  9. Time with Mama
  10. Going to the park with Daddy
So far, our special family dinner night will include:
  • chocolate soy milk
  • soy beans (If you have not tried edamame, you need to! It's quick and easy to cook, it's inexpensive, and it tastes amazing!)
  • fruits (most likely blueberries and strawberries)
  • tofu and mushrooms (Add some veggies, coconut cream, and Thai sauce and we'll enjoy some wonderful Thai food!)
And yes, these foods have been chosen by the kids as some favorites! :)
