Snow Girl

It is, of course, snowing outside. This winter we've had more snow than I think I've ever dealt with in my life. The first storm brought us around 3 1/2 feet total. And the current storm blowing around outside has, so far, given us over 2 feet, in just over two days. That's a lot of snow! And we can't seem to be able to keep up with the snow shoveling. I'm definitely feeling the 'snow shoveling muscles' I never knew I had. ;)

The good news about this wintry weather is that classes were canceled on campus for me today. Yay! I had a biology class and a biology lab tonight, but now I get to spend the whole day at home. I'm sure I'll end up having to make up the lab at a later date, but I'm grateful to have another day completely off. Normally, the snow falls on days that I have to be at work. Seeing as I work at a place (the Flagstaff Athletic Club) where people are crazy enough to 'need' to work out at 5am, even in the middle of an ice storm or blizzard, I usually have to get up at 3:30am in order to give myself enough time to shovel my car out of the drive way in order to get the club by 4:45am. I'm thankful that I didn't have to do that today. Today I slept.

Evie is loving the snow and wanting to spend as much time as possible outside. It actually works in my favor because she loves to stand close to me while I shovel, laughing the whole time. I get quite a bit done. Plus, it's difficult for me to be cooped up all day inside. It's wonderful to have a daughter who feels the same way.
