Fighting Illness

Yup. Evie and I are sick, once again. We were finally getting back into a 'regular' routine after the last batch of illness, and now we're right back in it. This time, Evie has a cold, with a horrible cough. Dealing with colds and toddlers is miserable, but adding the coughing makes everything much more difficult. Coughing means no sleep. I have the cold symptoms, but not a cough, thankfully. However, to add to an already annoying illness, I came down with the stomach flu today.

We will not doing much of anything for the next few days. We leave for our trip to Colorado on Thursday, so I'm really praying that we can get this out of our system before then. I guess I should look at getting sick now as a blessing in disguise. I'd like to hope that this is the last batch of sickness for us for this winter, but in Flagstaff, you never know.

The weather was gorgeous for a couple of days, even reaching the mid-sixty temperatures. Beautiful. Then, a storm headed back in and the the sickness has been moving from person to person very quickly. I get a little annoyed when parents choose to bring their sick children out into the public. But, I'm trying to focus on the fact that it can't always be avoided. I can only hope that if a parent does know that their child is sick, they choose to keep them from others. I've done my best to keep Evie home, even if she's not actually sick, but is 'acting' a little under the weather. I feel it's a courtesy to everyone.

This week will fly by even faster than most. I'm excited to get out of Flagstaff for awhile. It's been too long since we've been able to take a break, and I'm thankful to our families who will be helping and enjoying watching Evie during most of our time away.
