Hello baby!
There is nothing more awe-inspiring that seeing your unborn child pop onto the ultrasound screen, as you watch the baby move and hear it's heart beating. Seriously emotional! God is amazing!
I am now at 9 weeks! We found an awesome doctor who is going to give us the most natural birth possible in a hospital setting and I couldn't like her more! After trying to get in with the birthing center, we finally came to the conclusion that the cost was unreasonable for our family, especially since our insurance takes care of almost everything with a hospital birth. Although I was disappointed I would not get my hoped for water birth with little intervention, our doctor is wonderful and understands my wishes for a drug-free, laboring in the tub, unrestricted monitoring, etc. birth that we are aiming for. She spent over an hour with our family discussing everything and taking a peek at our precious little one. The kiddos loved hearing the baby's heartbeat (171 bpm!) and watching the baby kicking and being very active, even though the baby is only 3/4 inch long (think size of a lima bean)! This picture actually shows baby's foot kicking (on the right)! I am dealing with nausea on a daily basis - usually early afternoon through evening. I'm thankful to have the mornings to get things done, including getting Evie out the door to school. I'm even more thankful for a wonderful hubby who loves to help me around the house and is awesome at finding me food instantaneously (a MAJOR need at almost all times of the day)! I'm more hungry than I've ever been in my life and more exhausted than I thought possible. My sciatica has already begun to act up, so I move pretty slowly (even though I'm not even showing a bump), especially as I climb up and down our third-story apartment stairs. But life is good and we are so excited that God chose this little one to join our family! Our 'official' due date is set at May 3rd, 2014. We'll have to see if this baby waits it out to the end to share the month of May with cousin Charlie and Charissa (Aunt-to-be), or if baby will be sharing the month of April with Gramps!
