Jackson's Busy Week

At the beginning of the week, Jackson began 'army crawling'! He has not figured out that he can move from room to room yet, but he has figured that he can move to whatever he wants in the room he is in. The following day, Jackson decided that moving around the room was not enough. So, he figured out how to pull himself to a standing position. He is no longer content sitting, and chooses to stand most of the time by holding onto the couch, our pant legs, etc. His balance is not wonderful yet, but it is amazing how quickly he's getting a hang of it. Lately, Jackson has been 'talking' much more... and today, Jackson said his first word! After prompting him a couple of times, Jackson began to say 'Dada' repeatedly. Now, when I ask him to say 'Dada', he smiles sweetly and says it very clearly.
At first I thought that maybe he was just saying the word, not knowing what it meant. However, he's begun to look around for Blake when he says it, so it definitely qualifies as his first word. He's adorable! Another 'biggie' for this week was getting rid of the bottles and switching over to sippy cups. Jackson has done wonderfully with it and seems to not miss the bottles... as long as he gets his milk or water, he does not seem to notice a difference with how he gets it. Jackson's an amazing little boy and keeps us smiling in this more-often-than-not gloomy weather. He loves to dance to any music that we have playing, enjoys his baths, and is always excited to get in his car seat to go wherever - as long as he's outside some, he's happy! He will be 9 months old this coming Friday!
