I had my 36 week Dr. appointment yesterday. I will now see my Dr. every week till Jack's born, which really makes the time go by much faster. I appreciate that. :)
Jack is big. I'm thinking he'll be quite a bit larger than Evie was, but we'll see. He's still face-down, which explains the extreme rib-kicking. His heart rate has dropped quite a bit, from the upper 150's to the lower 130's. I was told this is nothing to worry about... it's very normal for the baby's heart rate to drop close to the time of labor. I also had my Group B Strep test. I tested negative to GBS when I was pregnant with Evie, so I'm not concerned. I'm dilated at 1 cm, which I'm also very thankful for. My Braxton Hicks contractions have not slowed down and have kept me pretty exhausted for several weeks now. So, I was glad to find out that there's a little bit of progress going on, even if it doesn't guarantee that Jack will be here soon.
Evie's doing great! She just got home from a week with my parents in Safford. She spent the week playing in the water outside and trying to stay cool in the heat. Blake and I were thankful to have a fun, relaxing week hanging out together here at home. Blake still worked, but we had quite a bit of down-time together, also. I was able to accomplish everything on my list: finishing Evie's baby scrapbook, reading several books, cleaning the house, and getting Jack's car seat in the car and putting his bed together. My parents drove Evie back up to Flagstaff last Friday and stayed the weekend with us. We spent a fun weekend laying low and grilling some amazing food.
