What a busy year it has been. I'm convinced I just posted about Evie and her 7th birthday. Unbelievably, she is now 8 years old and in 2nd Grade. Jackson is 5 years old and began Kindergarten. Duke is 17 months old and keeps all of us extremely busy all day long. And baby Skye is growing fast and expected right around Christmas!
Before I get too caught up in living life and unable to find a moment to sit down to record a few of these big moments, I wanted to take advantage of my little downtime.
Never did I anticipate four children of my own. We'd always wanted a big family, but once we started building ours we quickly realized the effort that would take. And we decided to take it just one day at a time instead. Funny how Jackson is the only one of our children that we actually 'planned'. God is good.
Little Skye was not in my plans. I was comfortable with our three munchkins. I was sleeping. Life was... dare I say, easy. Comfort. It's what I live for, and I had somehow achieved my goal even with three children. I certainly did not want to rock the boat. And so we chose to take major precautions. God's response was, 'My will, not yours.' And I am currently 27 weeks along and Skye's due date is Christmas Day. :) Now that the shock is over, I can honestly say I smile every time I think of how God allowed this to happen.
Only three more months and we'll have a second daughter, our fourth child. Duke will be a big brother (Although my heart still considers him to be my forever baby... we'll see how Skye changes things.)! I'm excited for her to be here and add more to our family. So much love! We are no longer 'a little family', but prayerfully, once Skye is born, we will also no longer be 'a growing family'. I look forward to the end of this stage of life and the beginning of simply (haha!) raising the family God has chosen for us. The future is bright and exciting!
