Our 3-Day Juice Reboot is coming to a close. I have learned a lot about my body and how far I can push it. I began this juicing 'detox' without one thought about whether or not my body would be able to thrive on juice alone - I just assumed I would manage however I felt.
About half-way through Day 1 I got a horrible headache, but knew I would have to just deal with it since medications are not part of the reboot (I deal with headaches all the time without any remedy, so not a huge deal). Then, I became extremely weak and lightheaded. I have always had very low blood pressure (one of the main reasons I deal with headaches) and drinking only juice all day long was not enough for my body to function properly. So, I decided to eat a small meal during the day to get me through the day without feeling lethargic and awful. SO much better! I still felt awesome from the juice, but I knew I would be able to get through three days of juicing only if I allowed myself some extra nutrients. My intention with this reboot was to learn more about my body and become healthier. In order to do that I had to be willing to adjust my expectations of myself - an ongoing issue that pertains to multiple areas of my life. :)
As we complete the juicing, I'm glad we decided to do this reboot. I'm a little tired of drinking my food and look forward to chewing again. I feel great and I can say that I do feel 'cleansed'. Best of all, this juicing has left me feeling excited about choosing healthier whole foods. I just feel too awesome not to!
