It had been awhile since Blake and I got out of town together without the Evie and Jackson. In fact, the last time was before Jackson was born... So, Blake planned a mini-vacation for the two of us to get away for my birthday. He rarely gets time off, including his normal two days a week, so it was a big deal that he was able to get four days off in a row! We originally planned a trip out to California, but when an opportunity came up for my parents (our babysitters) to surprise my grandparents in Colorado for a 30-year celebration with the Department of Corrections serving with Prison Fellowship, we needed to find a fun solution - Blake's always good with impromptu ideas. ;) We had not been able to make the trip up to Flagstaff since moving away in August of 2010, so Blake got us a room at the Hotel Monte Vista in downtown Flagstaff and we hoped for decent weather. The weather was fantastic, sun shining and everything! We were able to meet up with several friends and we enjoyed a night out on the town at our favorite spots. We drove home the next day in order to make it back to Phoenix in time to see The Who in concert. They were incredible! We had a great time relaxing while the kids played with Grammy and Papa for a couple of days.
